The commenncement of the Building Act 2011 on 2 April 2012 introduces a new building approval process for Western Australia bringing some significant changes to the building approvals process, from the design stage right throught to occupation of a building. VSA would like to say congratulations and well done to Justin Boelen and Team Perth Airport for their outstanding fundraising achievements for this months "Ride for Youth". The ride is 700km from Albany to Perth! Each rider must raise at least $5000 to take part in the event, however Team Perth Airport has smashed this figure by already raising $30,000!!! We wish Justin and Team Perth Airport all the best in the lead up to this exciting event. The ride starts on the 27th March and will be going until the 31st March. Congratulations to the inaugural VSA tri teams from the BRW Triathlon as the team. The two VSA teams did extremely well and the company proud. It was a very hot day and the sprint team completed their sprint tri in under 40 minutes which is a great result, also the main event tri team completed their event in under 2 hours. Well done!

VSA is pleased to announce that Beverly Davies will be joining VSA Projects as a Senior Project Manager as of the 21st November 2011.
A Bachelor of Architecture (Hons) and Science (Hons), Beverley has significant experience gained in the UK, Asia and Africa. This is a significant move forward for the growth of VSA projects and will bring a much appreciated diversity to the already multi-talented project management team.

The City of Perth has given its approval to Brookfield's plan to build a 17-storey office tower adjacent to its $500 million City Square skyscraper. Becoming the little brother at City Square.
10th November 2011 - Perth Waterfront Development
The council of the City of Perth has agreed to the State taking the Esplanade Reserve. Under the State Government's plans for the Perth Waterfront, the land covered by the Esplanade will become a mixed-use development site including a water-filled inlet as the centrepiece of the project.

1st November 2011 - Building Energy Efficiency Certificate
From the 1st November the owners of an office building over 2000 m2 are required by the law to present a Building Energy Efficiency Certificate (BEEC) to the potential purchaser or lessee at the point of lease or purchase and address and provide these details with any advertisement material featured. The BEEC comprises of a NABERS Energy star rating for the building, an assessment of the tenancy lighting and general energy efficiency guidance. More deatils can be obtained from the following link:
12th September 2011 - Bankwest Activity Based Working (ABW)
Our project management team are working with Bankwest to deliver the new Bankwest Offices in Perth, Western Australia. The new Bankwest workplace features Activity Based Working (ABW) the first head office in Australia to do so. The West Australian recently featured details on the project.
